Türkiye'nin dört bir yanında olduğu gibi Bandırma'da da Cumhuriyet'in 100. yılı büyük bir coşkuyla kutlandı. Şehir merkezinde düzenlenen etkinliklerde binlerce Bandırmalı, Atatürk'ün kurduğu Cumhuriyetin yüzüncü yılında bir araya gelerek bu özel günü coşkuyla kutladı. Meydanlarda düzenlenen konserler, folklor gösterileri ve havai fişek gösterileri ile şehirde renkli görüntüler oluştu. Yerel yönetimlerin ve sivil toplum kuruluşlarının organize ettiği etkinliklerle Bandırma, tarihindeki bu önemli dönüm noktasını unutulmaz kıldı.
